Maybe the countless advanced stats that show Laine is only a good shooter and thats it? Saying Dubois isn't as good because of points is just hilariously stupid. Systems and context matter
Dubois also hasn't had the chance to play with Ehlers, Scheifele, Connor and Wheeler. Hes got to play with Panarin...when he was 20. Also... again... CBJ needs Dubois more than WPG needs Laine.
So, if systems and context matter, then I guess it works the same way for Laine as well. Laine has never got to play for a defense only coach like Tortorella, so that kind of evens them out again.
Laine just outscores Dubois by such an enormous amount that it far outweighs slight defensive advanced stat advantages that Dubois might have. Defense like Dubois plays is easily taught, scoring like Laine does can't be taught and is far more valuable.
