Respectfully- if you don’t want Dubnyk why would the Canes? Also, not a long track record of teams trading players they just signed to extensions (Reeves VGK).

@title but to explain more; its just giving canes cap space (on a UFA) and a 1 mil back up who could perform well (not super likely though but plausible). I'm not trading Dubnyk in this post cause "He's bad and f the Canes.". Really just because I like Reimer, that's the only reason I selected the Canes for the trade.

I get it, but the Canes know what they have in Reimer, and he’s due very little actual salary this year. They have been candid that they won’t trade one of their goalies unless they have a clear upgrade. I don’t think DD is a clear upgrade.

Oh yeah he is not a upgrade - just better than offering Jones looool. I mean Dubnyk and Jones can rebound but neither is a good bet. I enjoyed the Reimer days in teal so I'd love to see him back but as you mention; I doubt he is asking much more than basically what he has now and so far looks like a better keeper if Mrzaek wants the same price or more.

Kane should be on same line as Reaves.
