I mean Markstrom to Holtby after last year is a downgrade, and they lost Toffoli, but ya I agree. I also think last year's team exceeded expectations to a point where they will take a step back. I still see them cracking the playoffs though, or at least coming very close. Not sure why people would have them at #6 or 7 in the North

They added Schmidt but lost Tanev and Stecher. If they ultimately sign Hamonic their D is likely slightly better overall, but Schmidt is more offensive and Tanev is a pure shutdown guy, so they’ll probably give up even MORE shots (they already were one of the worst teams at shot suppression). I see this being a major issue as they traded Vezina calibre goaltending for basement level goaltending, Holtby’s been mediocre for a couple years and while Demko had 3 good games, he wasn’t great all regular season, which is a larger sample size. They also lost some offense and depth with Toffoli and Leivo walking.
