    We don't need Kuemper

Konalov or Rod should be ready by that time

Put Lavoie next to McDavid and play JP with Holloway
That'll be a big boy line and the sniper line

Would be pretty sweet if Caleb can get Seth to join the Oilers haha

Rakell is in line for one last big pay day. Probably gets more than that.

Pretty sweet looking lineup, but its pretty rare that a team would have nearly all of the players on their roster as being drafted by that team. Theres only like 4 starting players who aren't drafted by the Oilers. Good look at what the Oilers have coming up though

If one of Edmundson or Chiarot goes to Seattle, I can see MTL taking this deal

We don't need Kuemper? Our weakness is goaltending. Kuemper fixes that

He seems fine playing in columbus and no one likes playing in columbus. And also edmonton isn't a dump.

They're both pretty young to lead a team to the Stanley Cup. It could happen, but I'm not betting on it. Best to have some insurance, which is what I've done. I'm not stuck on Kuemper, could be another veteran with a good track record.

Tippett likes to go power v power, no way it's a good idea to put McDavid up against opponent's top-6 with Savoie and Lavoie on his wings. They'd be lethal but would leak a lot of goals too.

    true

Then I have a question for you

Would you rather put Savoie or Lavoie with McDavid?

Yep, there's a lot of complimentary talent coming. As for Rakell, that sort of depends on how he plays the next 2 seasons, but his last 2 seasons were 15-goal, 45-point efforts, and he isn't going to be getting any younger. At the time of signing he'll be 29, you don't want to spend too much more than $3.25M x 3 on a 29-year-old middle-six winger in a flat-cap world. Again, it's impossible to project 2 seasons ahead but I think this is in the range. What do you think he'll get?

Too early to say, but because I like some size and defensive ability on each line I could see it working out 2 ways:

    Holloway - McDavid - Lavoie
    - or -
    Savoie - McDavid - Puljujarvi

I think Savoie will end up a better sniper than Lavoie, but I think Holloway ends up better than Puljujarvi, so I'm not convinced my lineup is the best set-up at all. I simply put it that way because I wanted to see Holloway at center. Ask me again in a month and maybe I'll have a different view though - prospects don't develop in straight lines.

Using the other 1st line, I could see something like this:

    Holloway - McDavid - Lavoie
    Nugent-Hopkins - Draisaitl - Yamamoto
    Savoie - UFA - Puljujarvi

Now you don't need Rakell or Kahun, resulting in $6M cap space for a 3C (or move Nuge to 3C and spend your $6M on a 2LW). Either way, there's options.
