You’re acting like they are in the same tier. They are not. Zibby is much better. Columbus adds lol, team control means something, but not nearly enough to make up for the difference in skill.

This makes absolutely no sense for the Rangers. They downgrade C's and don't improve all round while sacrificing 2 top prospects.

I think that if Dubois isn't in the same tier as Zib right now, he probably will be shortly. To me, he's already a 1C-caliber player at 22 and IMO a considerably better player today than what Zibanejad was back then. TBF, Zibanejad was a late bloomer, however, I think that Dubois is a franchise piece and will be for a longer term than Zibanejad will be.

No, just no. I understand that PLD will be an RFA and Zibanejad will be a UFA at the end of their contracts, but Zibanejad is the better player. Not to mention that Nils and Kravtsov are high end prospects

I agree that Zibanejad is better right now. He's one of my favorite players to watch (even though he brutalizes my Canes). The question that I raise is that will Dubois be even better in a couple of years? And on top of that, the team control difference and the age difference is valuable enough to acquire at least 1 high end prospect. If I was a Rangers guy, I'd probably deal Lundkvist due to the RHD logjam.

First of all, the age difference and years of team control mean the same thing, being younger is only notable when one expires as an RFA or the older player is mid-30s+. This falls into the former category, which means that because PLD is younger, he has the team control, so you’re double dipping there. Then to follow that up, the value difference is not larger than the difference in skill currently between Zibby and PLD/Knazko, and you’re thinking it’s bigger than that gap, plus worth two top 50 prospects? It’s not even close. If you took out both prospects the Rangers would still decline. We’re talking about a guy who put up 75 points in 57 games (108 point pace) vs. a guy with a career high 82 game pace of 61 points, and zibanejad plays nearly 4 minutes more per game, he’s just as physical, a much better two-way guy who plays the PK, wins more faceoffs, and takes less penalties lol

Why the f*ck do the Rangers had Lundkvust and Kravstov. If handled right, Kravstov could be like Panarin who isn’t worth Dubois alone. No way you slice it is this trade even ballpark

I think Lundkvist's ceiling is too high and unknown for NY to trade him until they've figured out how good he can be
