    Détails additionnels:
People are going to say "Necas" but the second Necas gets brought up, we're talking 1 for 1. Necas is going to be a PPG player and it's just not worth that for Carolina. Rees provides one of the best forwards in the OHL at this point, accompanied with a great defensive prospect and a 1st round pick. Picks are magic beans, but you're not going to get the full value for Dubois anyway when everyone knows he wants out.

Columbus isn’t taking futures for PLD, they are a win now team with how the contracts are looking. If anyone from Carolina is in a PLD trade it would have to include Trocheck.

Necas Dubios are pretty close to even I agree there. Not sure about Necas becoming PPG player... 55-65 range I'd guess average

As a rookie he was on a 50 point pace, I don't think it's even controversial to suggest he's somewhere between 70-85 points a season at his peak

You're not going to get what you want for a player who openly wants out. That's simple enough. That said, a deal involving trocheck is definitely viable.

I disagree with that. He's under team control for the next 4 or 5 years. It's not like there's a gun to anyone's head here. He wants to be traded, and that's fine, Columbus will do their best to make it happen, but I really don't see them selling him at a discount, especially when just about every team in the league would likely be asking about him.

He's team controlled so he can't walk away, but every team knows the detriment that a want-away player will have on a locker room. Columbus will likely look to move him as soon as they can, and they won't get what they would have done for him had he kept his trade desires within the organisation. No one is going to say "Here is a fair deal" because they know they don't have to raise the price.

EDIT: Just for argument's sake, what would you say is a fair deal for Dubois?

Lots of players don't improve that much after a good rookie season, obviously lots of players do. But To say it's not even controversial? Ehlers, similar draft position, similar pace as a rookie career high 64. Nylander similar draft position, similar pace as rookie, career high 61. Toews, similar pace as a rookie, broke 70 points only twice and 80 only once.

I mean to say Necas is a lock PPG guy is a huge stretch. He very well might be, but he might not. It is a controversial statement.

That might be true but even after Anderson requested a trade and still played for the team for 2 years after signing his contract he was traded for Domi and a 3rd. It happens more than you think that a player requests a trade, plays for the team for a bit and is traded at full price later. I have a feeling PLD is going to be a lot like the Anderson things and gets traded right before his contract is up. He wants out, but he’s still there and as long as he doesn’t just leave there’s no reason to move him if a deal can’t be reached.

For argument's sake, I'd say Necas+one of Fleury or Bean would be fair. Canes fans love Necas though, so I'm assuming you'd decline, in which case I'd assume Columbus would look elsewhere.

Honestly, I don't think the total value of this deal is off, I just think Columbus isn't in a position where they're looking for futures.

the main thing you are forgetting is that these two teams are in the same division. colomubs will require a higher price so i would say trochek and bean instead of keane. trochek is definitely needed tho

Look at it in this light. Players with his skating ability tend to improve at both ends. Look at someone like Aho, who started with 40 points as a rookie. Last season, he was on pace for 45 GOALS. Teravainen? Improved drastically over time too. Outside of Carolina, look at guys like Gaudreau. There's enough to look at when you look at guys he was compared to when he was drafted. Guys like Toews who play defence first are always going to have diminished draft totals.

Necas would be 1-for-1. His ceiling is higher than Dubois. That's instantly no, especially for a player who wants out.

I think very highly of Necas and wish the Wild could get him, but even Nail Yakupov scored at a 50 point pace his rookie season and we all know how that played out...

In a similar system to Dubois, Necas was on pace to score more points as a rookie than Dubois did as a rookie. Necas is a better skater, his vision is incredible, and he's a right shot which Carolina don't have a lot of. That doesn't make him better, just throwing that in there. Necas' skating is why he's already showing his ability to become a phenomenal player. If you don't know what I mean, look at the goal he scored against Arizona where he literally destroyed Raanta's groin with his skating. That combined with the fact he was a rookie, and he's already starting to show flashes of brilliance? If Necas had a center for most of the year that had hands (AKA Not Jordan Staal) he could have genuinely led the team in production.

It's far more common players who score at that rate pan out than don't.

Hard to see Columbus moving PLD for some mid-range prospects and back end picks in the 1st and 2nd rounds. Don't really understand how his trade request lowers his value.

I'm not going to disagree, because I don't have a horse in a PLD trade, as Anaheim won't be in on him, but I'll counter with:

-Necas was a rookie at age 21 and had professional experience in both the Czech league and the AHL, whereas PLD was a rookie at 19, coming straight out of junior.
-PLD is only 6 months older than Necas.
-PLD has proved to be extremely reliable at both ends of the ice, whereas Necas has not.

100%. There's 29 other teams in the league, and I'd assume many of them would be interested in acquiring him, especially given his cap hit, team control, and Columbus's ability to take back a bit of cap in a deal.

Unless he comes out and says he only wants to play in certain cities, I can't imagine this lowers his value at all. Teams shouldn't care if he wants to be traded out and try to lowball their offer; they should make any deal until the cost is higher than the benefit.

Exactly. People are acting like he jumped out and pulled a James Harden or Vince Carter. Realistically, he has no say where he's going to end up. Everything appears to be going as amicably as it could given the circumstances.
