Yes Knight was amazing and if you look at the players on my standouts a lot of them are United States players I think they played even better than expected for gold.

But you cannot say Canada played well, and a lot of their stars played terrible (Byram, cozens, byfield mainly).

Canada looked pretty dire after the first goal and through most of the second. US played really well stifling Canada's offense and keeping shots away on defense, Knight was good but the team was keeping a lot of pucks away.

Glad Topi Niemela got Defenseman of the Tournament. Excited for all of the Leafs Finnish kids.

He played reeeaaaall well. Makes the selection of Drysdale look very good (I still like drysdale but you can see what Ottawa wanted to choose with him)

how tf did byram win player of the game? the only guys i thought played well were harley and holloway. knight, sanderson, and zegras were phenomenal, york, turcotte, boldy and beniers were very good too. usa did a great job keeping canada to the outside and preventing any quality shots, and canada didn’t know how to respond. brutal performance by what should have been a super squad for the ages. nobody remembers a loser

byfield has sucked all tourny, just like he did last year. He sucks. Period. You can stop trying to build him up. Everyone who knew anything about hockey dogged him before the draft. He's slow as hell. He can't keep up. In general the USA was much faster on the ice than Canada. It showed the first period and a half. Then they went into a shell to defend.

Team US shut them down. It wasn't that team canada played bad. They got out played. Team US shut them down. They were all over them, and they struggled with their speed. If Team US doesn't go in a shell in that 3rd period you might have seen 3 nothing.

I wonder what's different about Byfield that makes you rag on him constantly...

Lol you clearly didn’t watch the game nor understand what I said so goodnight man once again I’m glad for the US and they played well and the kids should be proud of their performance as they proved they’re the best team this year.

on thing I did think stuck out while watching this game. I don't have the stats on it, but just by watching, it looked as if the US dominated on the dot.
With 3:30 or so left on the clock, Canada had the faceoff in the Ozone and kept the goalie in net. They had no faith they would win the faceoff and keep the puck down. Tells you the kind of performance US had on canada.

I would not be surprised if cozens turns in absolutely nothing after the way Buffalo handled Casey Mittelstadt, and the way people are hyping up Dillion Levi am i the only that remembers Justin Pogge and Zack Fucale.

I think byfield played well a couple games or a couple shifts but he’s very inconsistent. Maybe you noticed something else mondo but he just seemed like he can’t keep pace. Like he’ll look good for a shift than the next is so completely underwhelming

It’s never safe to bet on players over a single tournament. I think cozens will be good but he clearly showed some errors in high pressure moments tonight.
but Knight is a way more easy selection to become a nhl goalie then Levi.

It was embarrassing to watch Byram and Cozens try and make fancy plays or skilled moves down 2-0 - when byram took a pass with his feet and tried to control it and then almost lost it I knew there then we aren’t tying it up + all his individual shots when drysdale or others were WIDE OPEN

Feel bad for them and them showing their emotions and how much it hurts to lose but they’ll learn from it hopefully

Yeah, he didn't look great. I didn't really notice him that much and when I did it was in the defensive zone not really being effective. Hope he develops well though.

You’re assuming it was back handed yet it wasn’t. Take my word for it or not but you’re the one assuming here - I can both say my team played like **** and give the other team a compliment. Whether you wanna take the compliment is on you, cause you didn’t take me talking **** on my own team.

I have nothing against 21+ kids from a different country who are talented and exciting to watch lol - it’s good for the game to have a best on best tournament, and to see a team win gold when many believed they wouldn’t.

I know as a Jets fan I'm supposed to be excited about Perfetti but sorry he had a pretty mediocre World Juniors Tournament, pretty sure I heard he didn't register a single even strength point, maybe I heard wrong though idk.

Could be a few factors, playing wing not center or maybe he just didn't click with his linemates affected his play. I'm sure he'll be fine but man oh man he was mostly invisible in this tournament, he's definitely not close to being NHL ready, think he's gonna need a couple years before he's ready to make the Jets.
