Burke would trade top offensive assets for defensive depth. Think putting 7-8 million dollar players on either side of the blueline on the first line. Move Pulock and Leddy down to the second pair. Mayfield and Hickey to the bottom pairing, have one really good top line and then meh and spending the least amount possible up front.

Burkes the coolest guy in hockey. No doubt. He pulled off some awesome stuff as a GM, and despite the goof ups, he at least tried to build teams the proper way.
