I don't know, CBJ has made the right choices on some deals. Letting Bob go was the right move.
Losing Panarin hurt. But it is what it is.
I don't see PLD going for at least another 2 years. After that they'll want an arm and a leg or you'll wait for 2 more years at the very least.

I think Ottawa can afford to slightly overpay for him. Anyone not named Sanderson, Chabot, Tkachuk, Stutzle should be available. That’s the core. Add PLD to that core and surround them with talent

I don't think you get PLD without losing a core player. Every team will want in on him. Especially if he continues to grow as a player.
I think a team like Seattle will probably out bid you. They'll have the assets to and if they are looking to compete they'll make the move. Much like Vegas did in acquiring core pieces to make them competitive instead of a lucky one off.

Brannstrom + Norris + White + 1st not enough for you? Not that I’d pay that much just asking

it's to hard to say we haven't seen what they have done and where the 1st is.

But like White, so far, he's a bottom 6 center. We'll see on the others.

Thing is, CBJ has a lot of the same problems every other team has. They have consistently had depth but not top talent. And if they make a team with a lot of depth on a trade like this, they are really no better than where they started before getting PLD. Which is no where.

It's not like CBJ is going to attract it to come in. That's not going to happen. They have to draft it, and hope to not be a farm team.
So if they move him out, my guess is they are looking for top talent back.

Norris and Brannstrom were our 2 of our top 3 prospects before we drafted 2 guys top 5 this year. Look at Norris’ AHL season. He’s starting camp on the top line with Tkachuk and Dadonov. White will bounce back. He’s a 2RW imo. Brannstrom i still have high hopes for , I just think he’s expendable with Sanderson here

Like I said, it's too early to judge any of these guys, they'll have 2 years too figure it out.
I'm not high on Brannstrom to be honest. He's seriously undersized to be a top defenseman, his ceiling is basically a 2D in the Ozone. A guy like Krug who is hidden constantly. And if he can't fit that role, there pretty much is no other role for him. It's the bad part of being a role player like that. It's like smaller forwards who don't have the size to really be a bottom 6 guy. If they can't make it on the top lines, they are done.
I know Norris has had a good AHL season, but it's still the AHL. It's a different game at the NHL. Not knocking him. But he's got to get out on the ice and skate at the NHL level before anyone would be comfortable giving up a guy like PLD. Proven number 1 centers are hard to find.

White I think is what he is. I don't see him improving that much because honestly. I think he's gonna be ceilinged at 3C anywhere he goes. Including OTT. You just don't get a PLD with that.
So it depends what you get on the other two. The first is probably mid round if not late round in 2 years with the talent OTT has in it's developing guys coming in the next year or two.
So unless Norris turns into a guy who is capable of being a number 1, I don't think the offer would get you close. I wouldn't pull that as a GM. I don't think anyone else being honest would either.
I think someone will give up better for a guy like that. They are too hard to find.
