Realistic in the idea that PLD is only getting traded for an upcoming star and no less. Columbus is a contending club that wants contending pieces for a core guy that's trying to whine his way out of town because he got a boo-boo from Torts and Jarmo. They probably will get at least that.

Funny how fans outside a teams fanbase value players vs. those who follow that team. No Habs fan would like this. Suzuki removed from the package makes more sense to me. The best trade package I’ve read (Heard) was on top shelf hockey- PLD for Danault and Caufield. That hurts but seems fair.

If Danault came with an extension, maybe. Danault's a good player that I think is a good fit for Columbus. I think the thing that Columbus wants is a star player that will stick around long-term.

For sure and he could be had for 5/6 at 4.5/5 aav which would work long term financials

Suzuki is a no go
Norlinder has more potential than Romanov
So that’s an easy no

I just think that it's a lot more delicate to work with a club that is in win now mode like Columbus clearly wants to be in. That's why a PLD deal is difficult to execute. You need a deal that keeps them a contender while also being a fair value for both sides. The only kind of deal that it leads to, IMO, is star-for-star. That's why I see the prize in a Dubois deal either being an extended Laine+ or an extended Hamilton+.

Why do habs fans seriously think they could acquired PLD for anything less than Suzuki+? Suzuki is only a year younger and hasn’t proven nearly as much as PLD. Suzuki is quickly becoming one of the most overrated players in this league. The fact that habs fans say he’s “untouchable” in a trade where MTL would upgrade from Suzuki to PLD is just funny

I don’t particularly want PDL just relaying a trade I heard on you tube. I think if he’s having a hard time in Columbus Montreal would not be any better.
