No DCore in Canada is particularly good, so I wouldn't brag too hard.

It's definitely not the best d core in Canada. In no particular order, Montreal, Toronto, and Calgary are all better. Even Edmonton and Winnipeg are underrated and pretty decent.

Vancouver HD really limited good d-man. Schmidt was good in Vegas, but you don't know how he transitions to Vancouver. Hughes has only played 1 season so people need to chill on his hype. Seems like they're already labelling him a top 10 d-man in the league which he isn't. After that, they're full of overrated and overpaid players that are past their prime.

Hamonic isnt good anymore, and Myers isnt great either..you have 2 good Dmen in Hughes and Schmidt, 2 question marks in Edler and Juolevi...then yikes after all that.

I would argue that Montreals ahead of the Canucks with Weber Petry Chiarot Romanov and Mete is pretty respected 5/6th of a Dcore, then they have 1 spot to rotate around with Edmundson etc. Its not super sexy but its rock solid

im not either, but as a 3rd pairing rotational guy, hes an acceptable NHLer for that role. Their 5top 4 is pretty safe and deep at the very least

if Hamonic was good and a guy who could play on a top pair...he wouldnt be signing a PTO when camps are opening. How he played during the season before he opted out of the restart, he actively hurt your team on the ice not improve it

It's not. The best part about the Canadian division is that it should be super high paced and high scoring because the flaw in most of the teams is defensive play.

I don't think its particularly better than TOR, CGY, MTL defence. It's not worse, but no defence has a real edge just yet.

Idk, all the Canadian teams D cores have some holes or question marks so idk if I'd say the Canucks is the best, it could be argued that it's a 5 way split then the Jets is 6th and the Sens is the worst.

Completely correct. Myers has been a below average 3rd pair defenceman for a couple of years. Edler is in decline and Juolevi could be an adequate bottom pair guy or a complete bust. Hughes is very good but his size does have some draw backs, and Schmidt is very good.

It is hands down worse than all of these. I'd say they are not far ahead of Ottawa and on par with Edmonton.

Let's just say Rielly and Hughes are equal. Muzzin is equal to Schmidt. Brodie is better than anyone you have, Holl is also better than anyone else, Dermott and Lehtonen and even Bogosian are likely better as well. Myers is Bogosian no better.

Same statement can be made for Brodie, Tanev and everyone else that has been added in the offseason.

Except for adding Schmidt and deleting Stetcher, the Canucks have the same Dmen as last year. Actually all the Canadian teams have basically the same calibre of Dmen. Avoiding injuries and getting unexpected growth from younger players will be a key for the teams.
Call me bias, I'm expecting the collectively the Leafs Dmen to be much better than last year. Reasons, hoping Reilly, and Muzzin aren't going to be on LTIR for long stretches like last year. No more Barrie and Ceci. Holl and Dermot are competent NHLers. The addition of Brodie from Calgary. So that's five starters Bogosian, KHL star Lehoten, second year Sandin, Marincin, Rosen, Lilijgren....that's six more to play # 6, and 7. Plus Keefe has his first full season as NHL coach.

True.. but if you look at it like that then Vancouver has 1 good d-man in Hughes who's only played 1 year. Can't justify calling a d-core like that the "best in Canada"
