That’s a heck of an offer for Connor Brown. Most fans of other teams don’t realize his value, Ottawa absolutely stole him from Toronto. I think this is an overpay, but Connor Brown is such a good, versatile player, but it’s still an overpay, IMO. So, Ottawa accepts, lol.

You seem to have a weird fascination with Will Butcher. He's terrible defensively, he's not a top-4 guy and he's overpaid because of it. Why are you giving up Kahun (45-point pace last year with basically zero powerplay time) and Zack Kassian (47-point pace last year with basically zero powerplay time) to get a 3rd pairing LHD??

He's a highly sheltered 3rd pairing guy. His coaches go to extraordinary lengths so he doesn't have to face opposing top players. They wouldn't do that if he was actually an elite player.

The Rangers would have little interest in trading for Nurse, I suspect, given their stable of young d-men. I thought the Hawks would at least be receptive to the deal, as their top pairing (Keith and Seabrook) have a combined age of 117.

Seabrook is not on Chicago's top pairing, he is their 6th man if not 7th.

Hawks have Mitchell, Boqvist, Regula, and Carlsson as their NHL prospects on D, all whom in a tanking year should get plenty of ice time. Also have Murphy, Keith, De Haan, and Zadarov as the vets along with Seabs as the 6th or 7th man. Nurse just doesn't help us out much. We need a bonafide top line #1 LHD young prospect under the age of 25. Nurse is good 2nd liner IMO, but he's not a true #1 D guy IMO and he's also only a 2 year rental which doesn't do much for a team rebuilding.
