That is a terrible idea.

While his offensive ability is MILES better than his defensive ability, it is probably better for him to stay on defense. It would be fun to experiment it. For him to make decent progress though, JC seriously needs to take the cuffs off him and actually let him play to his talents. There just wasn’t enough of that last year and it caught up in the playoffs.

Try Seabrook at RW instead.

Keep him on d. Offensive ability as a defenseman is far different than that in the wing. You have to play as different style of game and probably won’t translate well.

The rare case like byfuglien and burns are exceptions.

Let him stay at D. Let him and Mitchell play 20 mins a game and on PP. This is the time to do it
