I was wondering when these would start back up lol. I think that you are over paying a bit for a guy who is known yo want out but at the same time it is probably something the Jets would consider. Another option might be Tatar (extended) + Struble + Kulak + 2 1sts.

Too much quantity, too little quality. No chance Winnipeg considers it.

i do agree its an overpayment a bit but i think its close to what it what take from the habs side, i dont see them parting with KK or Suzuki so deal starts around the two 1sts. Tatar extended would also be a decent package.

Laine isn’t getting traded.. at least for another year, unless Chevy gets blown away, we’ll see what he can do this season

No it's actually too much quality and too much quantity.

Top 6 winger, middle pairing man, 2 top prospects, 2 1sts and 2 3rds. For a guy who wants out of Winnipeg so bad that he once let it be known that he would sign an OS.

No it's too little quality, just as I said. A problem child, one dimensional 2nd liner and a pile of low end spare parts don't get you a proven 22 year old 30 goal scoring, first line winger.

That's what Ive been saying. The jets trade for Stastny hoping chemistry can be rekindled, if it is then Laine could have his best season. If that happens the jets could deal him next offseason. There was that one report about Seattle making a run at him after the expansion draft. I know the Krakken wont get the same haul Vegas got, but they could put together a pretty sweet package for Laine. Better than this one that's for sure

1. Drouin has never been a problem child, sure he may be 1 dimensional but so is Laine, who by the way IS a problem child in that if he doesn't get his way he throws a fit and demands a trade and everything. Unlike Drouin who was demoted to the 4th line at times and took it like a man.

2. Kulak is a good top 4 D man on a cheap contract (just cause you are anti-Habs doesn't mean he doesn't have decent value)

3. Both Poehling and Brook are projects but both also have significant enough upside to be considered a ģood addition to the package.

4. 2 1sts and 2 3rds are anything but low end spare parts.

5. You are not trading McDavid or MacKinnon here it's Laine who wants out and has been very vocal about it.

6. When was Laine ever played on Winnipegs top line? You can't call a guy who hasn't played on the top line a top line winger. Obviously there is something about his game that the coach doesn't like (defensively liable) that has prevented him from being played on the top line.

I can fully apprecaited jets fans who have Laine's value above what this deal would bring them but i dont think they will ever get that in a trade. If a team was willing to give more in an offer then Laine would already be moved. The fact he hasnt been moved with all the trade talk about him for the past few years leads me to believe that if/when he is dealt it will not be some offer that blows winnipeg away. The more this drags on the less value he has in the market. I do agree that i felt the Stastny trade was pointing to the team wanting to give Laine one last legit go, but that being said if that doesnt pan out you can rest assured it only hurts his trade value and then you probable dont even get close to two 1sts a 55-60 point player locked on a contract, with additional prospects and picks.

#2 is incorrect. He’s a 3rd pair guy. If he’s playing top 4 you have major problems on D. Which Habs fans have been well aware of the last few years.

Take out a 1st the 3rds and Kulak you are probably around the correct value. But Jets decline.

I think you either overvalued the players or undervalued the draftpicks, this salary cap era, I would be pretty surprised if there was that many draftpicks dealt in a package for one player, with an expansion draft coming some of the value comes off the player package with the need for a protection spot for some of these players. I think your pretty accurate in a trade of laine, but there maybe a need for higher end center and rhd prospects over the fill the hole now thoughts. 3 pieces with a first would be my thought on trade. Drouin/better center prospect/better rhd prospect and first possibly top 5 protected

Did you not watch the play ins? He was the best LHD we had. Plus in 18-19 he paired well with Petry and played most of the season there. He is more of a 3-6 D man than a bottom pair guy. Just look at where some of the other fan bases ACGM's place him after a trade. Almost every one has him slotted on the 2nd pair

Your LD was terrible the last 2 years. Of course he was your best. He’s still a 3rd pair guy.

Our LD is terrible this year, and he’s not an upgrade over anyone we are going to use.

Yup, does not change what Kulak is. He’s a 5-7 type of dman. If you are playing him on 2nd pair you are desperate. Like Boston with Moore or Peg with Forbort. Plugging a 3rd pair type into a larger role and crossing your fingers. Bringing in more 3rd pair types is not the fix. Like Boston is considering with Hutton.
