I agree I was trying to make it realistic. Cant have too many players under 24 in the lineup lol

Doubt Trotz would do it but if the Islanders acquired Roslovic bet he'd work well with Barzal, I get you could say that about a lot of guys with Barzal but the way Roslovic handles the puck I could see him and Barzal being great on a line together.

You’re probably right, I just read that roslovic prefers to play center so this trade wouldn’t work out lol

When Trotz sees how well Roslovic plays defensively and in his own zone we will never see zone ice! Lol

I looked up his defensive metrics. They were bad last season, but the previous 2 seasons he was solid defensively so it seems like he has what It takes to be a good two way forward.

He is not hard on the puck but rather soft imo. I just don’t see Trotz taking him in, not a good fit. He never goes to the hard ice in the offensive zone but stays to the outside. Not a gritty type Trotz player. No doubt the can dangle and keep up with Barzal. But those are just my thoughts.

You can take all the metrics and advanced stats etc..... but he is NOT a hard player to play against, most NYI’s are! How does Trotz win so much with that team?

Interesting, so Roslovic prefers to play center, the Jets need centers and when he played center he had more success then on the wing but Maurice doesn't leave him there, what a joke of an organization!

I’m just saying that roslovic has been good defensively in the past. Trotz just likes old players, it doesn’t matter if they’re physical or not.

Trotz is a good coach, but he actually holds the team back at times by always favoring vets over young players

I don't see what you see, he was great when he played center but Maurice wouldn't leave him there, he spent a lot of time playing with Lowry and Copp who are both slow stonehands that suck offensively.

What I see when I watch the Islanders is Barzal flying around and his linemates can barely keep up and don't play the style he does, could see Roslo meshing with Barzal.

Trotz had success in Washington cause he got them to buy in but in the end the Capitals were a good team from top to bottom, the Islanders aren't quite as good, he'll only go so far playing Komarov over Bellows/Wahlstrom and Boychuk over Dobson for example.

I put no stock into the advanced stats stuff, Roslovic is good and this past season was pretty solid for him, he definitely made strides and the vast majority of young players take time to develop stronger defensive play.

I think he needs a change of scenery and to your point he probably was not utilized to his potential .most p,ayers that get traded can make that claim. If there is no fit in WPG then move him for an asset, think Chicago with Toews and Dach injured would reap the biggest return for the Jets.

Eberle has great chemistry with barzal but for some reason trotz refuses to take lee off of his lw. Lee is great, but he’s not good in transition, so why would he be put on a line with one of the fastest skaters in the NHL, especially when beauvillier and barzal have shown to have great chemistry in the past.

Correct, the capitals were stacked. He was able to get away with putting jay beagle on the 1st line with ovechkin because of all the star power his teams had.

It’s pretty hard to judge defensive play from the eye test alone, but to each their own. No doubt roslovic has potential, it seems like he’s not being put in a position to succeed

Thing is there is a fit in Winnipeg but Maurice is a stubborn f*ck that picks his favorites and has decided Roslovic isn't one of his, he doesn't need a change of scenery, he needs to be put at 3C with two offensively capable wingers and the results will follow. I have zero doubt that if the 2015 line had been left together there wouldn't be Roslovic trade talk right now.

Honestly think the Jets are headed for a prolonged period of underutilization and underperformamce with a coach that still thinks it's 1997 and a GM that seemingly can't do much of anything to get the team he's been in control of for a decade over the hump.
