I think, from a contender/buyer perspective, Byram could be expendable if an asset close to his value could be brought in. The only problem with Marner is his contract, but I would love to see him on that Avs PP

If you could have byram makar as your top two defence next ten years I’m not sure how you pass that up

Obviously that's true under a blanket. But at some point if Girard and Devon Toews and Connor Timmins get good then you don't want to waste one of these guys in your bottom pair while your offense or goaltending struggle. For now there's obviously no trades to be made.

I could see girard going in a couple years and hang on to timmins for the right side.

If Girard becomes a 7/10 and he gets a 7/10 player in return and Byram becomes and 8/10 but gets a 9/10 in return then you consider Byram.

It's all theoretical for a reason.
