If we believe Det actually wants Sutter this is a maybe. I think it's not true so if it's not true then it's more like a 2022 2nd and Sutter for a 2021 4th.

With Larkin the only C worth mentioning the Wings could get good use from Sutter. Namestnikov better suited as a winger & the other C’s are placeholders at best. Stevie probably has no interest & will suffer out another year of cellar dweller.

My thought is Sutter straight up for a later pick 4th or 5th. Van takes the cap dump if another UFA is sought or room for prospect projected to play & cap left over is for bonuses.

Detroit's view:
How much does Sutter have left? If he bounces back and has a really good year. Would he even think about signing in Detroit? From Detroit pov he is a cap dump and would want a pick in return.

Vancouver's view:
They don't really need the cap space this season and Sutter is in the final year of his contract so I don't see Vancouver giving up anything to move him. Plus Vancouver could probably get more at the TDL.

I am amazed that Canuck fans still think they can get real assets for their bad contracts rather than paying others to take them off their hands. If Sutter had anything left he would be the third line center in Vancouver. He is not.
