That’s the first trade of Tyler Johnson that I’ve seen the lightning would even look at.
Garland is a nice young player

ARI can certainly get more from tampa
Despite Gryz and stud being really good pieces, no way ARI does that deal

No not really Tampa bay can bury Johnson’s contract on Taxi already cleared wavers put Coburn on taxi mcbackup on taxi if McIlhenny or Coburn is claimed their salary cap you sign a minimum guy who you bring someone up from the minors there is your free salary cap space. Convince Kraken to bring Johnson home with a 2,3 and say a Colton ross protecting others. Similar to the deal the Tampa Bay Lightning made with the Vegas golden knights when they picked Jason Garrison and Tyler Johnson is a much better player than Jason Garrison

STL probably does that. Tarasenko is great but we don’t know how he’ll age. Keller is a hometown boy who could be the next face of the franchise.

That isn’t how the taxi squad works. Johnson would have a 3.925 cap hit.

Its certainly I fun idea and I hope u enjoyed drinking lol

Bruins would likely reject the deal unless some Salary is retained... Rn Stud >Hayton.
so a 3rd and Griz for OEL isnt good for the bruins anyway

Retain some and the bruins start to think about it. But probably say no anyway

K. It still seems like you think burying Johnson on the taxi squad removes his cap hit. It doesnt.

And that Garland is a nice, young player is why Arizona should not be trading him. Johnson would not be a 40 - 45 point player on the Yotes.

What are you talking about? Tampa put TJ on waivers and were happy to give him away for nothing. That's when they realized he actually has negative trade value. AZ wouldn't do this deal, not even close.

That was when everybody thought Tampa Bay was in Cap hell and they could make them bleed through the nose. They can keep every single player on their roster and make the Compliance they are not desperate anymore after the Kucherov injury but keep thinking your you can pull the bull**** off https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2148636

Why wouldn't he waive for AZ? Keeps his tax money. He knows lightning don't want him and most contenders can't afford him.
Tarasenko is a boom or bust guy at this point but if he is a bust at least AZ aquires cap flexibility in the near future and a solid young goalie.

When you sober up, you're going to regret a lot of this. Mostly trading all the good youngsters.

Why would Arizona want him anyways? Reportedly Armstrong is looking to unload basically anyone over the age of 25, He's looking at a young roster 24 and under per reports. Hence why he was trying to move Stepan, Ekman-Larsson Kessel etc.

Moving Coburn and Paquette was the easy play here. Both contracts expire at the end of this year and don't commit a team long term (although I will admit surprise to Coburn waiving to go to Ottawa - maybe he misheard the destination?). TJ is a different story with a 5 million for 4 years cap hit ($17.75 of real money) and although he's a good player, he's on the wrong side of 30 for another team to commit that much money and term without a serious sweetener. I said all along that Tampa would need to lean heavily on LTIR and they're doing just that with Kuch out for the season, but when he's back, then it's back to cap hell.

Seattle gets a1&4 and Ben Thomas to take Johnson similar to the 2,4 and the 2 year prior 7th round pick Nikita Gusev for VGK to take Jason Garrison
