Singing Hoffman is Huge mistake. Hoffman is a known entity, while he scores a lot of goals, more goals are scored against his team when he's on the ice...this is a stat that has followed him throughout his career. Unless Hoffman is playing with a very stout defense (Hawks don't have one) and with at least one linemate if not two that are defensive (Cat certainly isn't one), then it's a total waste.

Perry? Don't you think the team has signed enough bottom 6 veteran guys recently with Wallmark, Janmkark, Soderberg, and already having Carps? Makes no sense to bring in another.

This is a rebuild year for the Hawks they want the kids to develop in Rockford and see what they have in Suter , Dach , Strome see if Kubalik is for real and if Cat can be a consistent 35 -45 goal scorer and see what they have with the kids on defence and in nets . Hoffman ( 2nd or 1st ) rounder at the deadline Perry ( 3rd rounder ) Soderberg a 3rd maybe a second etc etc this is what rebuilding teams are supposed to do . Stockpile prospects and picks . The fact the hawks are going with no experience in net makes it pretty obvious that this is how the Hawks are approaching this season . So the more tradeable assets the Hawks can sign the better it is for the team long term . Should be pretty obvious
