ya I guess. I just figured Tarasenko won't be back till the playoffs anyways, and Hoffman could serve as his replacement in the meantime. Plus playing with an elite defensive center like ROR might mitigate some of his defensive relapse. Come the playoffs, cap doesn't have much of an effect, and you can have both of them on the team. Maybe I'm wrong though, I didn't look into Tank's injury status before making this.

I’m all for bringing in Hoffman, would’ve preferred Granlund but a one year deal on a potential 30 goal scorer couldn’t hurt. That top 6 is great and if we can make money work, having two renown goal scorers (him and Tarasenko) should prevent offensive lulls. Also you’re forgetting my breakout candidate, Jordan Kyrou.

yeah but I think he only took the PTO because Steen and Tarasenko don't go on LTIR until the season starts, so they can't afford him until then, but he still wants to come to training camp. It can't possibly be a real tryout for a guy with his production levels
