Since the year is coming to an end, I’ve decided to do a ranking of the best players in each position from 2010-2020. I will be rating each player based on their peak.
Players who were born post 1995 with less than 500 games played will be ranked in honourable mentions.
That’s fair. I just feel people rank Datsyuk higher cuz he’s the best possession driver & defensive Forward of all time.
Anyone that refers to the Magic Man as Datsyuk shouldn’t be taken seriously. If only Mallon could actually finish a season healthy. The timing is off for Datsyuk’s peak though.

He was good, but I found you wings fans overrated him like crazy.
Not sure if you’re from Detroit area but I am, and Mike Valenti and co praised datsyuk like the second coming of Christ on his show. Same with all of Detroit media. It was the most annoying thing ever. He was great, Hall of fame forsure, but man he was overrated by Detroit media
Players like Matthews, Point, Draisaitl, and Eichel should be at the very bottom or not on this list.
How do you have Toews over Kopitar when Kopitar has been better literally their entire careers and Kopitar hasn't had as good of linemates as him either.

Overrating players happens with every team. It’s hard not to like Datsyuk because he’s a complete player/highlight reel and I really like Malkin also as he can just take over a game. I don’t pay too much attention to media and didn’t live in Detroit. We’d drive into town go straight to the Joe as a kid and then moved to the west coast when I got older (been there since, well technically headed back to the Mid West in a few months).

I actually just looked up their stats & analytics, indeed Kopitar was better individually. But it’s just hard not to go with Toews, he captained his team to 3 cups in 6 years & won a Conn Smythe.

For his four years of pro hockey, I wouldn't put Matthews that high......Now he might be in the top three form 2020 to 2030.
O'Reilly has had couple of very good years....but many just above average. Coutrierier of Flyers...maybe not top ten.
Maybe add Scheifille of the Jets, and Couture of the Sharks as additions
