Description
This is all assuming the league gets back to semi normal in 2 years. The expansion and tV deal bring in enough money to not only recover most of lost assets but to make more too. The NHL also expands their gambling deal for more money. The ads work on the helmets so they put 1 or 2 on the hockey sweater.

Oh I'm not saYong to pull a Man U and make the sponser the big as* logo on the front. Im talking about like a small McD's logo on the right shoulder or TD on the right chest area opposite of where you'd put the letter. Lol small ones like that.

Kessel is a great player but having him, Nylander & Marner would make the team dysfunctional. 3 guys who don’t hustle or go to the dirty area.

Not at all. It's 2 years later so it's a crap shoot to guess what happens. Campbell is a good starter he proved he can stop pucks with the Kings and Leafs. Hollowell is great OFD and I think could work really well with Muzzin. Sandin and Lily are 2 years older and matured and have grown into their bodies. There's no reason to believe that this D Core can't be solid in 2 years.

The 4th line I really like those 3 build up chemistry and honestly can fight for middle 6 minutes just like the 3rd line can fight for top 6. Leafs problem will never be forward depth.... aside from the fluky crap against CBJ that will never happen again I'd put money on it.

So yeah if this team was put together for this year I'd agree but 2 years from now I'd like it.

Nylander scored most of his goals last year 5 feet from the net or less that narrative needs to change... Kessel I can see it but his talent over makes up for that. Marner as much as I hate his cap hit is arguably the Leafs 2nd best player. His hockey iq means he doesn't need to. He'll wait and strip the puck off him clean. Same with a Matthews but his big body allows him to do more in the corners.

Nylander led the league in goals from in tight last season and was near the top in offensive zone turnovers. That doesn't happen if you don't go to the dirty areas and Marner is widely known for his hustle and enthusiasm. So where is this opinion coming from?

At least make an all american line; Robertson/Matthews/Kessel and an all canadian line; Hyman/J.T./Marner and an all Russian line; Mikhey/Barbie/SDA and an all Swede line; Amirov/Nylander/Hallander.

I like your narrative but I think you underplayed Rielly. He will likely get around 8-9 Million on a long term deal based on other league comparable.

I was thinking that and don't get me wrong he's probably my favourite Leaf but he hasn't really done anything to prove that he's in that upper talent of players other then 1 great point year.

Well the media does benefit from being sensational and fueling whims of troll nation. It boosts clicks from both sides to cater to them. In reality there is nothing by evidence to prove Nylander goes to the dirty areas, he's just so smooth about it many don't see it.

I knew Nylander scored a lot of net front goals last year but I didn’t know he was at the top in offensive zone turnovers. TBH, when I watch him play I don’t see him going hard into the end boards to win puck battles but I guess with his speed, he doesn’t need to.

As for Marner, he seems like a pure finesse player. Really skilled & creative but doesn’t bring enough of the intangibles. Last season he just looked slow & tentative.

I’m excited to watch Rielly play alongside a legit top pair D partner this season. He’s going to do wonders offensively.

It's not impossible, I liked how he looked last season. Goalies are funny, the right situation and a goalie can out of nowhere look fantastic. He's put up good numbers for a few seasons now. I think the difference between a good goalie and a great goalie is 90% between the ears and the system he is in. So will he be the starter? Not likely but it's not at all impossible.

imposible? no, but then it's not imposible for Vesey to become a 50 goal scorer. It's just very very very unlikely. Campbell has been a mediocre to good back up at best his entire career and has never shown that he could ever be a starter. Banking on it now would be an astronomical mistake.

I think the league would step in with a special mercy ruling on a team this soft.
