They signed him because they need to expose a goalie to Seattle. Andersen will be FA so he's exempt and they don't have any other goalie beyond Campbell that fits the bill. That is why they signed Hutchinson.

he also doubles in that role, but mainly they need an AHL starter, Scott and Woll are questionable at this point to even do that and the Leafs are looking to develop them, not feed them to the wolves. If it wasnt Hutchenson, it woulda been another vet on another low end 2 year deal.

Likely yeah, I think the hope is Woll takes a step although I do really like Scott as well. Big, athletic and was dominant in junior. Hopefully both show well whenever they get back to playing.b
