Add a high end prospect to the Detroit trade. I'm not gonna immediately say "Detroit passes" like everyone else. However it seems pretty obvious the wings aren't taking on TJ for a simple first.

Just because they're out on cap bail with the Kucherov LTIR, cap jail is still right around the corner and the price to take on TJ doesn't go down just because they have a little time now. Add at least 1 high end prospect to that to make it happen and that's if TJ even waives for Detroit.

Agree, if it was this easy it's probably done by now.

Yzerman will probably be looking at Tampa's 2021 1st round pick and their Goaltending prospect Hugo Alnefet to take on Tyler Johnson's contract and perhaps Yzerman deals JBB Henrik Zetterberg on top of Kucherov on LTIR.

Wings pass, not enough coming back

Can somebody fill me in why Zetterberg might be included in the trade? I haven’t followed along lately and don’t understand what that does for either team

It does nothing, but people have a hard time understanding LTIR and some think it gives magical capspace.

You are beating a dead horse my friend. Zetterberg's contract will cost Detroit nothing for it's final season and people are still convinced that it gives them more cap space and don't factor in his salary which balances out the money from LTIR. I have given up trying to explain it.
