I think taking minutes away from Marner and giving them to Simmonds isn't a great idea if Keefe wants to keep his job.

I don't see Simmonds as a top line player anymore.

I don't see Robertson displacing anyone in the top six and I don't think he is suited for the bottom six.

No way Marner plays on the third line.

I get what you are going for here but, It would never happen.

I don't love the idea of Kerfoot and Marner together, as they are both pass-first players.

If Leafs are looking for a shake-up or want to give Tavares some matchup line duties, I like this option:

Vesey - Matthews - Marner
Hyman - Tavares - Mikheyev
Nylander - Kerfoot - Simmonds

or

Hyman - Matthews - Marner
Kerfoot - Tavares - Mikheyev
Nylander - Thornton - Simmonds

At the end of the day Marner will still have top minutes as he will be on the top PP and on the PK and gives the leafs a game breaker on the ice almost all the time



If would don't think of it as line 1, 2, 3 and think of it as rotating 3 balanced lines at least 5 on 5.

Playing with Matthews Simmons does not have to be a top line guy he just needs to keep up like Hoglund with Sundin or Dupuis with Crosby.




Could be any combination but I think the wingers can be better balanced to roll 3 lines even 4 if needed

It just doesn't work with Keefe's system. We will not see this rolled out the way it has been laid out here. No way.
