ARZ>ANA,
Not gonna argue the C, nobody knows what the NYI, PIT, WSH, BOS, NYR, BUF order is gonna be or can even guess. I personally have NYR higher up and think BUF is a better team than their final standings will show
NSH>CBJ/CHI
CAN division is too close to call. Any of MTL, VAN, TOR, CGY, EDM, WPG could win
So Edmonton finished 2nd in the pacific last year with the best power play percentage of any team in the last 40 years and the 2nd best penalty kill in the league. They go out and add Tyson Barrie and Kahun, and you have them finishing not just out of the playoffs, but 2nd lowest in their division. I'm not saying that the Oilers are contenders, but to have them so low seems crazy
Krug was a big piece of the team but at even strength, he was sheltered and the 4th/5th most used D. It's on PP where he was one of the most important players, that's where they could regress if McAvoy/Grzelcyk struggle. They also added Smith who is a good scorer at EV and that was an area they needed an upgrade.
I don't expect them to be #1 again but 5th in their own division is a big reach imo and I haven't even talked about the other teams you got in front of them.
Vancouver finishing 2nd is a big stretch. They lost Tanev, Stetcher, Markstrom, and other key pieces. Demko looked good in the playoffs but during the regular season he was average, than u got Holtby who with the capitals struggled. Things could change but I feel the goaltending could hurt their standings. Their defense despite the addition of Schmidt also could be seen as weaker. In general (Toronto, Montreal, Calgary) probs in the top 3 with Edmonton or Winnipeg in the 4th spot followed by Vancouver and Ottawa
