This is really bad for VGK. Like bad.

Because if Detroit is taking on a player in his 30's with high cap hit an term, going to dump a player in his 30's with cap hit and term.
And because I don't want Frans Neilsen at 5.25 anymore. Patches at 7 is much better. Except Vegas can't afford. And Yes, it's totally stealing from them.

What favours does Detroit owe Vegas exactly? The flat cap has screwed teams. Detroit is fine to sit back, keep their picks and watch them get hosed by some other team.

VGK doesn’t need to trade him to be cap compliant as they can run a 20 man roster (AHL team is in the same city). Nielsen is an absolute cap dump as you should know being Detroit fan. So essentially they trade a good winger for a cap dump for a measly couple million which is just a luxury. That’s my points.

Yes Vegas does need to move cap, and they very well might move Pacioretty, but they will make a move where they get at least something back, Neillson has no value, a 3rd or a 4th may be more reasonable

I agree in the sense that wings aren’t in any place to require pacioretty, but Vegas would never do it.
