Pacioretty was a top 12 forward in the league last season. Bailey is a low end 2nd liner. Based on play alone, this is would be a steal.

Yeah they’re not taking baileys contract back, but they are desperate to move out salary so I wouldn’t be surprised if they only got a 2nd in return in for pacioretty

I'm not discrediting Pacioretty. He's awesome. But if we get a forward I want a different kind of player. Get me Marchessault or Smith from that team (realistically, I'd kill for Mark Stone but obvoiusly they're not moving him).

Pacioretty was an elite sniper who was great on the powerplay and excelled defensively. Exactly what we need. Marchessault and smith are good, but they’re not on the same level as pacioretty. Yeah obviously I’d love to trade for Mark stone, best winger in the league.
