Pass. RNH is going to be looking for 8+ and I'll be absolutely damned if we're going to pay that for a 55-60 point center.

Does anyone think Nuge is going to get 8 million? I feel like his best comparison is Brayden schenn who hot 6.5 million. Love nuge, fantastic 2way center, but hopefully he doesn't make more than 6.75

I have no idea what someone is going to pay RNH if he has another 70+ point pace season, but he makes 6M at the moment, so he's certainly going to be looking for a large raise. If he truly is only going to get 6.5M, Wild can wait 6 months and sign him without moving Dumba. Otherwise we have to give him whatever he wants or lose him for nothing. Moving Dumba for that opportunity is not good asset management, at all.

Well I want nuge to be an oiler for life. That being said the one and only other jersey I’ve ever been able to picture him in is the wild. He plays a perfect style for the type of hockey wild play. Id hate to see it but admittedly would be a match made in heaven. This return or offer mighta gotten the deal done 3-4 years ago but I can’t see oilers moving a core player to upgrade the blue line now too much quality prospects banging on the door.

Detroit and Edmonton easily decline, RNH isn't getting dealt and no way is Detroit dealing Brattstrom for Rask and a 2nd round pick.

This doesn't work for Edmonton. Firstly their defense depth chart is pretty full, but also GM's have their eye on the coming expansion draft and this would give 4 or 5 protection-worthy defensemen on the Oilers roster. For sure they reject this offer.

If anything, Edmonton will look to trade a defenseman for a forward (next summer) so as to protect 7-3-1.

I can’t see Edmonton doing 4-4-1 for expansion it’s almost certainly going to be 7-3-1 and your right either we give up a d or deal one most likely jones not my personal first choice but seems most realistic

They would HAVE to go 4-4-1 if they made this trade though. Which isn't feasible IMO.

Oh I hope this trade doesn't happen either. I'm an oilers fan and losing Nuge would be devastating. Our Blueline will be fine with the amount of young dmen we have
