What makes you think Andersen is overrated? Is it cause he had 1 bad season?

Goalies and Centres were tough. I’d say Andersen is overrated due mainly to leaf media.

Subban? I don't think anyone is highly rating him nowadays, but in his prime he was great.

As long as Gardiner is in the NHL someone is overrating him.

But he was also highly touted in Anaheim. He's played pretty much the same during his time in Anaheim and Toronto (accept this season)

Klefbom, and Nuge aren’t. If anything they are underrated.

Klefbom has literally one season over 70 games.

That doesn’t make him overrated. When he’s healthy he’s very good.

I agree with the vast majority of these, except Faulk, Gardiner, and duchene. Everyone knows they stink.

Heh. I'd tell you Bozak is actually sorely underrated while also being overpaid. It's a rare animal.

And who's overrating Faulk? He's a league-wide whipping boy to the point that most people are too harsh on him. But he's definitely also overpaid.

Jeff Skinner?

Bozak is a significant stretch. Is anyone saying Bozak is anything more than a third line center? That's all he's played for the last three years.

Also other people have mentioned it but Anderson was one of the most consistent goalies for the five seasons prior to this one. He posted a .917 or above behind a Leafs defense that, I'm sure we need no reminding, was absolutely garbagio. That's unprecedented goalie consistency. I feel like we gotta give him a mulligan at least once especially when that team happened to feature Cody Ceci in front of him.

I would argue Hamilton is underrated. He's had multiple seasons of +40 points across multiple teams, so we know he's not riding any coattails or just a one off. Are we going to say the overbearing hockey media machine in *checks notes* Raleigh, North Carolina is overhyping him?

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins
Oscar Klefbom
Dougie Hamilton

Here are my comments based off these factors:
- riding coattails of linemates
- media overhype
- one good season
- they play(Ed) in Toronto

RNH: I assume for this one your are reference the riding of McDavid and Draisaitl's coattails. However, he had 3 50+ point seasons before either of those players were on the team. Obviously his offensive numbers are inflated currently, with 61 points in 65 games in 19-20. But he is extremely sound defensively and is honestly the heart of the Edmonton team.

Klefbom: He has been plagued with injuries so its hard to gauge what his point range would be in an 82 game season. I'd guess 30-35. Again I assume you think he's overrated due to exposure to McDavid and Drai. Fair enough, he is overrated offensively I'll give you that. He is however really underrated defensively. He led the league in blocked shots with 180 and is ranked 12th in the NHL in blocked shots over the past 3 seasons.

Dougie Hamilton: No idea how you think he's overrated. He has been a consistent 40 point D-man for numerous years and took another big step in his offensive development last season. He certainly doesn't ride anyone's coattails that I'm aware of, I think players like Aho and Svech may honestly ride his.

RNH - i struggled with centre’s in this post right from the get go. I say RNH is overrrated due mainly to the points you’ve made and much the same as leaf media, oiler media and fans place him too high. His offensive numbers have been inflated with McDavid and Dry. Is he a solid 3 centre? Absolutely. Higher than that? Debatable.

Klefbom - consistently oiler fans are placing him as a number 1 d man. While his stats like you say have been inflated with again the dynamic duo. Perhaps he is defensively sound to your points. However to be a number 1 d man you need a key characteristic. Reliability. He unfortunately does not have that. And Edmonton would be wise to replace him in that role and use him for what he is. A 3-4 guy.

Hamilton - consistently people place him as an Olympic level defensemen. He is always at the start of trade packages. But when you look past the glam, he’s simply a big bodied offensive d man. That is it. He has had great partners to bail him out in his own end on each team played for. So much to the point that his own defensive end shift starts have dropped significantly.

The worst part of being a leaf fan is leaf fans.

Jeff Skinner is still a great player, the only problem with him is his contract.

Most leafs fans are sane. There are just a few who are nuts and that is ehat everyone sees for some reason.

Why is Taylor Hall overrated? His career average is 75 points every 82 games, mostly playing alongside centres such as Gagner, Zajac & Soderberg. He is a great forechecker, plays physical & is solid defensively. So I don’t get why he’s on your list.
