if we dont go 16-0 in the playoffs next year

Explications
listened to burke on the SDP talk about trading nylander

nonsense, can't see anybody trading for him. Buying these guys out gives us free cap space without needing to pay to get rid of them (i.e. the marleau contract)

I'd tenatively say this team is in rebuild mode, but with all the size/grit dotted throughout the lineup, I'd maybe give it a year or two before going full rebuild imo

all star team definitely, and maybe a norris. if keefe rolls with the matthews/nylander duo then I don't think it's controversial to say there's maybe a william m. jennings trophy in his future

won't matter if he doesn't get a ring though imo

Avs love Top 4 picks! Thanks for trading us three of those for Kadri! Now we can go sign UFA John Tavares for cheaper since he's already collecting a paycheque from Toronto. Also, I can't see nashville saying no. Goalies are so tricky right? There's no way of knowing if he'll pan out. Sure he's playing well now and always has but that's probably going to change. "Let's sell high for Connor Brown, no one and nothing so that we don't get screwed over with this giant question mark in Askarov over here" - Poile as he is applauded down the streets of Nashville.

    idk spezza is pretty good

guy's a dallas stars legend, not exactly the same type of market as ottawa. If he got acclimated to the market there (once fans get to know him, they'll love him) i see him being a veteran mentor for the younger kids. he's prob got a few years left in him

Ya, for sure, I was just wondering what u thought his ceiling was..? I guess none. I thought he was a good two-way forward. Could get some Selke votes, which is a victory in itself. Same as getting any Hart votes, or any Calder votes.

idk this team is prob competitive. doubt those are top 10 picks, no leafs gm is gonna just gift a team lottery picks lol

also yeah askarov is kind of a buy low option, if it works it works, if not oh well

pretty sure his last game he played for st petersburg he looked a little shaky, can't imagine him fetching much better return imo

The actual Yogi Berra quote is thought to be, “90% of the game is half mental”

This looks like what would happen if Trump bought MLSE and made Burke GM (not president and GM because Trump would save the president title for himself) and tried to convince everyone this team would win the Stanley cup the next 10 years in a row lol
