Honestly, I would be penciling Krebs into that 2C spot. Especially if Glass struggles again.

Class didn't really struggle at the start of the year, he just had a constant string of injuries

Perhaps it better to say, doesn’t find his fit. He looked good playing with Stone and Pacioretty, but who wouldn’t? He might need another year or two to be a top 6 guy though.

Glass struggling is definitely a risk but it blows my mind that people thinks Krebs is better prepared. Glass dominated the WHL way more than Krebs did and played really well in the AHL becoming one of their best players instantly.

I think lots of people, myself included as I think about it, are projecting an unrealistic expectation on him. I think he'd flourish as a 3rd line C, especially on the Vegas 3rd line, but the common understanding is that he needs to play top 6 now or he's looking like a bust. I don't wonder if Elias Lindholm is a good comparison for his development, 3rd line guy that turns into a top line guy at 24.

As for Krebs, I think he has a touch more of the offensive flair than Glass does which may translate a bit better immediately. He's had a good WJC camp and I would pencil him in to be playing middle 6 this year.

I don't see the offensive upside. Glass has proven at every level he has played to be an offensive threat. Krebs was the best player on his team in the WHL and his biggest impact was his playmaking. Glass has proven that he has insane vision and can make great passing plays. Using Glass' stats as a WHL comparison he was scoring almost 0.5 Goals per game and basically 1.0 Assists per game (his last season he was hitting 1.4 Assists per game) ,5gp 2G 4A during his WJC run and 11G and 11A in 30 games (including playoffs) in the AHL.

Krebs in the WHL was roughly 0.3 goals per game and 0.6 assists per game (Yes their last seasons are comparable). Krebs looks really promising but I can't honestly see anyway you can show me Krebs has a higher upside as it currently stands. If Glass was healthy he would have been playing in the playoffs where Krebs was a fringe chance.
