The Sabres will only trade Reinhart to keep Hall. So they would decline due to the Eriksson contract.

There’s still no way they take a bad contract in return. They already have $11M tied up between Okposo and Ristolainen.

Okay, what if I take out Eriksson and the 1st and replace it with Roussel and a 3rd instead?

They have no use for any of those players. I would rather take an Reinhart offersheet.

Only 1 year of Loui though
I could see us doing this possibly
Especially if Virtanen has a good season

    That’s MUCH worse
The 1st is the only reason we’d even consider it

So if I were to OS Reinhart at 6x6 would you let him walk?

I realize that but if I'm taking out Eriksson there's no way I can offer the same trade

It’s an EASY “no” without the 1st
    And it’s borderline with it

He probably wouldn’t accept a 6 million dollar contract. He’s probably would want 7 plus after the season he will probably have.

Wicked team. Defintely Semi-finals at least. The top six is elite and some Vancouver boys coming home, cool. 3rd line could be and would be amazing. I would even say Lind shares time with Justin Bailey or takes his spot. Or Hawryluk could play centre on the 4th....ooohhh. Or maybe even Michaelis on 4th line Centre spot.

Defense though...Schmidt plays RD. The Canucks have a strong prospect pool on the LD. Save your money on Larsson and resign Edler for the same or less. Then give Rathbone and Joulevi a strong chance at second LD with Brisebois in the mix. If anyone on the RD gets injured then Chatfield gets called up. .....Another other option is Bring in Tryamkin instead of Edler an save a 1mill.

If Holtby goes then you will need a grizzled Vet. for cheap that can share duties...like...Bernier, Dubnyk, Rinne or even Hutton.

If he puts up 80+ points I'll give him 7 but right now 6 is more than fair in my eyes

    I don’t know. I don’t think so. I like Virtanen, but I don’t think they’d want him as a replacement for Reinhart.

You can replace Dipietro with who ever you want doesn't matter to me but when it comes to Larsson I just think he's kinda underrated because of the Hall trade and his advanced stats are actually similar to Tanev so I think him playing with a better, more possession-based partner could be huge for him. I also prefer if the RD are actually right-handed which is why I have Schmidt on his natural side

Your initial proposal is still iffy

Reinhart is an underrated player imo...
I could just be a “homer” though with that

Yeah that garbage doesn't get you Sam Reinhart, And Vancouver is still a long ways away from being a serious cup contender.

Ill try to be objective here and say- sabres fans have been told by numerous neutral parties, that okposo would take a first with something else very nice attached to move. Eriksson and okposo are roughly the same value. I dont love reinhart as a player, but the numbers just dont lie, he consistently puts up goals and points. So either this offer is way underestimating what it would cost to move eriksson, or it is way underestimating what it would cost to acquire reinhart. Plus, the only way i see reinhart being moved is if hall is just dynamite with eichel and reinhart gets moved for futures, simply to free up salary.

Reinhart, Sam > Virtanen, Jake + Woo, Jett + Lind, Kole [RFA Rights]
    Lind is a decent prospect.
Maybe a pick or an upgrade over Woo might move the needle.
nothing > Eriksson, Loui + 2021 1st round pick (VAN)
The year Marleau was traded with a first he had 16 goals and 21 assists in 82 games.
This past year Eriksson had 6 goals and 7 assists in 49 games.
    Less than half the production.
I do not envision Loui being any better this coming year.
A first is the minimum add on to take Loui.

    I welcome feedback.

The reason to trade Sam is to open up some Cap space for Hall moving forward
I haven’t looked at the numbers to see if we could take Loui for a year or not
But it’s tough to say what fair value is gonna be after this season
Any of the players involved could have their value rise or drop
But I’d say his proposal is at least “in the ballpark”
