Dostal?

He's good, but not as good as UPL. He'd probably just squeak into the top 10 imo (guys like Oettinger and Alnefelt were snubbed too).

Lundkvist>Schneider

Askarov>knight IMO

Yeah I think Askarov will probably end up better than Knight long term, forgot to change that order around. I think Schneider and Lundkvist are very similar value at this point but it's tough to compare as they play completely different styles. That 5th RD could be any of Schneider, Thomson, or Lundkvist at this point but I went with the Canadian lol

Holtz and Jarvis ahead of kravtsov IMO

I could definitely see Holtz over Kravtsov, went back and forth on that one for a while. I thought Kravtsov was doing better in the KHL tbh but I just checked and he's kinda just been good, not fantastic. Probably the right call there. The 5th place is harder to decide than the top 4 were lol, seems like there was a pretty established top 4 for most positions but 5 was difficult for a few (LW coulda been Hoglander or Foote, RD coulda been Thomson or Lundkvist, C coulda been McMichael or Rossi).

I don’t think we are gonna see Cole Caulfield for another 3 years plus. Too small, it’s why he fell in the draft. Teams/GM knew he was gonna take more time. If he was just 5’10, 170, he would have been a top 5 pick. At least top 10. Any players under 5’10, 170 pounds usually don’t play in the NHL in till 23 years old or older. I’m a fan though!! Excited to see him when he does win a roster spot.

I’ll take the smaller, under-sized player that can put the puck in the net and produces on the ice though, rather than the “work-out warriors”.

Yeah man, if he was bigger he would be a beast, definitely in that top 5 conversation. I still have him ranked pretty highly though as the ability to put the puck in the net is, in my opinion, the most valuable trait a player can possess, and all he does is score. I could see Tippett above him but I personally don't see a world where he slips out of the top 4 best RW prospects at this point. This is also looking at potential over current NHL readiness, I think that if he's developed properly and put in a position to succeed, Caufield will be stellar, even if it takes a couple years.

I think Poulin is a better prospect and defiantly more NHL ready than Hoglander. Poulin is the stand-out in the WJ Canada team try-outs/practices so far!! Atleast from all the Pittsburgh reports. Probably alittle bias. But he is playing on the top line LW.

I agree!! Excited to see him in the NHL. Him slipping down to 15 was a mistake. But he does look like a baby, man. Looks every bit of a 16 year old..lol.

Which line is that? I'd heard the top line is Zary-Dach-Tomasino, is he playing with McMichael and Cozens or something? Ngl the reports I've read kinda have him on that fringe roster spot competition. It's gonna be TOUGH to make Canada this year, almost everybody is a top 25 pick lmao, the WHL leading scorer from last year (Beckman) doesn't even sound like he has a chance at this point

The last article I read on BLeacher Report about Poulin said he was playing on the top line for the WJ Cananda team. And was the stand-out in practices so far. But again, that’s coming from a Penguins beat writer. Or penguins article.

https://pittsburghhockeynow.com/washington-capitals-daniel-sprong-pittsburgh-penguins-sam-poulin-team-canada/

Sorry, “one of the top lines”. On Byfields line.

And the article b4 this one was about him scoring a ridiculous goal during practice and said it’s the goal of the camp so far. And he’s been the stand-out so far. And showed the clip of the goal in practice. Again, a penguins article. So take that for what it’s worth. But I actually think it quoted someone saying he was the stand-out so far.

Poulin will be a top 50 prospects when the new lists come out. He even grew. Now 6’3, 210. And fast, good scorer and good playmaker. He’s coming along really well.
