Description
Which of these trades could go down?

I assumed galchenyuk has a big year (50 ish points pace over an 82 game season) so he gets a 2nd.

Doesn’t that kind of prove that Holland might be willing to? Honestly could be a third, I just think it’s possible that the sens can get a 2nd for him if he gets say 50 points pace

why would the leafs downgrade to a significantly worse defender at the deadline?

Is Gudbranson really an upgrade over Holl? Cuz looking at his career stats, they are pretty bad.

not really, it means that that Holland is going to be more cautious this TDL

Imo he’s better than holl. Gudbranson has been tasked with shutting down the other teams’ best for years so hence the bad stats. He’s overpaid at 4M for what he brings offensively but definitely not at 2M.

Maybe, but this is the same guy who gave 2 seconds for AA. Again, this is his max value probably

no, he isnt. Gudbranson is horrific. You can task a guy with something all you want but if he's getting slaughtered at it on the regular (and he has been, literally his whole career) then it doesnt really matter. This is like when people say "he kills penalties" when it's just that a coach puts him out there a lot to get scored on.
Gudbranson is, and i cannot stress this enough, less then half as good at defence as Holl.

cuz AA was one year way from 30 goals on a bad wings team and everyone on the wings had bad +/-, he didn't trade for a guy that was constantly disappointing

sure, if you want to call it that. You cant just shrug off "bad stats" as "he plays tough competition" without context. Holl played significantly tougher minutes than Gudbranson last season and had miles and miles and miles better results.

canucks decline. As Jim B has stated several times, he will not give up a first to get rid of louies contract. we can just bury him in the minors with sven b to create cap space for this year.

Most likely? Anisimov
Least likely? Galchenyuk. Crazy wishful thinking he gets 50 points. Unless he somehow becomes the teams 1C with Tkachuk and say Brown. I do not have high hopes for him at all.

I really hope the Sens are granted permission from the 'All Seeing Eye' to use their cap space to get a 2021 1st or 2022 1st... who am I kidding though

After the oilers missed on AA, I don't think they should take a risk on galchenyk

These are just my opinions on how the Senators will handle each player

Anisimov should be traded, but I doubt he gets a 3rd
Gudbranson might be traded, and they might sign him to a lower cap 1-2 year extension
Paul isn’t going anywhere, except maybe Seattle, he’s earned a spot on this team
Nilsson can’t be traded unless he comes back and shows he’s okay, then he’s likely gone as a playoff 1B rental, cheap return
Reilly and JBrown are 3rd pair or depth D, they get minutes because there’s no one else

Galchenyuk, who knows.

I’ve read up enough on his inability to play defence on the wing that I think he’s a middle6 C or nothing. Ottawa might try to teach him winger defence, or they might just plug him in at C and cross their fingers. It means Paul will play wing instead of centre, but he’s a good winger so that’s okay.

I’d personally like to see Galchenyuk on the wing with Tierney and Connor Brown. They have excellent defensive awareness as well as scoring potential.

Either Galchenyuk gets it, and stays, or he can’t be traded, at least not for much.

From what I’ve seen from gudbranson, he’s better than holl. He’s a better alter and is more positionally sound. For a lot of players stats don’t tel the whole story.

Also I don’t understand how you think gudbransons stats are at all bad. Last year with Anaheim he has drastically better possession numbers than the rest of the team with a 57% o-zone start percentage. His PDO was lower than 100 which suggests he’s better than his stats show (in a nutshell). And he had an even plus minus, all while playing against the best.

For comparison, in a similar start percentage, holl was basically an even possession player in relation to his team, had a good plus minus (though he had more points), and had a PDO above 100.

Therefore, gudbranson had the better stats on the worse team.

I chalked it up to opinion because o didn’t want to have an argument with another leads fan about something that simply isn’t true.

Also holl has not played tougher minutes. Gudbranson was litterally playing against the best on every single shift at time for Anaheim. That guys was muzzin for the leafs, not holl

cool, trade him to the jets then, the Leafs dont need him or want him and i gotta love the "well the stats dont tell the story, but here is MY story with the stats!" nice one.

Ur view still doesn’t stand. Gudbranson has better stats lol. But ok. I would love to have him on the jets, the only problem is that that cap space is better used to get a ld. If he was left handed I would have traded him to the jets.
