Why would the Wings trade their future C for a bunch of guys they won't be able to pay (you know that thing, the cap?) and/or protect (you know, expansion)....makes no sense. This isn't NHL21.

The problem with this proposal isn’t about value, it’s about needs. Why would Detroit want more wingers when they have Mantha, Bertuzzi, Fabbri, Zadina, Raymond, Berggren, and Rasmussen (can play both C/W). Our centers after Larkin are Veleno and Niederbach with some NHL vets on one year deals (Filppula, Glendening).

Detroit needs to let go of “hometown”. A couple million extra any player would leave their hometown. For now he’s a young 1C praying for his team to jump forward to contention. If hometown is so important go trade for Alex Debrincat in Chicago who’s even more hometown.
