It could be legendary if he turns super fast sniper mode back on, but if he got traded for 2 seconds and an overpaid 4th liner. That's a lost of respect for the team...Not to mention morale.

I'd love it if this happened. Reminds me of when the Coyotes rented Vermette out to CHI for a cup run and then he signed back on the Coyotes. They drafted Nick Merkley with the first round pick they got who just ended up being Hall trade fodder.

I like the idea of AA getting his groove back and then a few years down the road, playing on a line with whoever that 2nd round pick turn out to be.

Ah I thought you meant AA meetings. Hate those. But yeah Athanasiou sucks too. He'd be a decent option for Detroit to bring back but definitely should be very cheap.

He wanted out and management soured on him, zero chance of him coming back. If he was smart, he'd sign a "show me", 1 year, super cheap deal in Colorado or Tampa, where they're cash strapped, but have players that can make him look good and raise his stock.
