Just eyeballing it, it seems like most of the better deals were signed before the player became a star? Fiala for sure, Coots too, Vrana was a bridge deal. Dadanov and Barrie seemed to take less due to the cap situation.
But I do agree, big money long term deals aren’t always worth it.

Yes, Fiala and Coots are worth much more than their contracts, probably Werenski, McAvoy, and Reilly as well to an extent. But I think you can still make a dynasty type team without any superstar players, or big money players.
