Well as much as it doesn’t make sense for DET, it is what they need in getting a franchise type player. Their rebuild still need 4-5 years to be legit. If they had a 1G to at least win and steal some games this may be a good idea. And if they added Hoffman to add top 6 players so they could move their current players into appropriate spots.. (bertuzzi is a middle 6 player). Obviously the NTC is a issue

A Rocket Richard winner that is a legit 1st liner on a decent contract that has been the captain on the best team in the league deserves a lot more than a 4th liner.
