Calgary’s top 4 of Gio Andersson Hanafin and tanev is in a good place. Not much room for another top 4 defender. If they could get a good depth guy, 3rd pair rhd with the ability to step up and cover the top 4 in case of injury that would be a good fit.

I don't want his contract and don't want to help Tampa. McDonagh is good right now but he's 31, has 6 more years left at a $6.75M cap hit with a complete NTC 5/6 years. Defensive dman tend to start declining at 33-34 and it will likely happen to McDonagh. Sure, it's a move to try to win now but I think Bruins can find another player at a better price. And as I said, it helps Tampa so right now which is not the thing to do as divisional rivals.

Theres a reasonable chance that the oldest bruins d man that will actually play is grzelcyk at 26, second would be Clifton at 25. A 31 year old isn’t the worst thing in the world.
