Mikhail Sergachev a signé un contrat de 3 ans d'une valeur de 14 400 000 $ avec les Lightning de Tampa Bay, le 25 nov. 2020. Le contrat comporte un cap hit de 4 800 000 $.
I been saying they’re gonna make everyone scratch their heads with great moves. Great management, and scouting. Plus now the teams buying in - they’re tryna be a modern dynasty which is even crazier considering we got COVID cap.
So much for taking a discount to keep the team together and all the other bull**** people peddle on this site about Tampa and contracts. No tax and player buy in really helping them get essentially the same aav contract to two other Dmen with better contract influences (TOI and production being the #1 and #2 things that affect contract value in Dmen) as well as a high 3rd year for a QA all in a pandemic affected market.
Its a fine contract and like all young stars he's likely plays to it and outperforms it but this is at best market rate, and certainly the low end of it considering comparables.
no he couldn't have. He got Deangelo's deal. It's fair value, no home team discount or whatever here.
I am shocked they didn't wait on this till mid season. Getting guys on QO and then doing the old signing bonus extension would have been much easier to do knowing that cap was going to open up next year.
They would have had a little higher AVA on those years, but it would be worth it.
Now they are painting themselves into a corner.
Fair contract. So now Tampa is about $2 million over the cap. If they trade Killorn they can sign Cernak, and after that either Cirelli or one of the full NTC players would need to be traded.

If they didn't think that they could deal their guys, they wouldn't have signed Sergachev, I don't think. It makes me wonder who they have lined up something with?

yeah this is the thing it really comes down too, and at what cost?
If they pushed it back, you look at Seattle taking a guy and it opens up room, you then move a guy like Palat on the final year of his deal, probably not that expensive. right?
But now they got to move a guy with term.
I would think McDonagh is the guy they want to move. But that's a big cap hit. Maybe they take some back to avoid retaining.
who all get's moved for this contract to fit in??? I think Cirelli gets around the same...
Well i think Tampa only signed him since they have a way to get back under the cap but easy ways to get under the cap would be to trade Coburn, Paquette, Killorn, Johnson
