I think KO has a MTC and a terrible contract and Risto is terrible so I am not sure why the Hawks would do this. If they trade Toews, they are definitely rebuilding and this would not be a good start.

Kinda what I was getting at, but if he decides he wants out because he is pissed off (and he is) then he will be traded. My point was looking at the actual trade and commenting on it regardless of it being realistic or not by the way

So the logic behind this trade is that impose brings a veteran presence and make the cap dollars work in the deal. Meanwhile, in their rebuild, hawks get a 2nd rounder- which I could also see being a 1- risto who's in his prime and mitts who's young and cheap with upside.
