The Bolts are fine

Explications
I don’t think the Bolts are really in that bad of shape, doubtful Cirelli/Serge/Cernak sit out. None of them have arb rights and I highly doubt an offer sheet. If they can trade anybody or just means more money for that trio. It sucks for them but nobody is getting paid this year.

Though honestly I can see Cernak signing his Q.O. just like Dermott did, afterall Dermott has more NHL and AHL games played than Cernak, so I don't see why Cernak is so over rated.

Fun fact, both of them played for Erie Otters at the same time in OHL.

Agreed. He was only projected to get just over 2 mil so it’s not that big of a deal. I think I’m just trying to show that Tampa isn’t really in that big of trouble, the RFA rules are really benefiting the teams right now. Cirelli and Serge will sign deals, it’s just a matter of how big and how long.

That’s not happening.!! They are trading TJ and Killorn or Gourde. Or Palat. They even said they are willing to get rid assets like a 1st round pick to get rid of TJ and Killorn. It’s just a matter of them waiving their NTC.

Cirelli will sign 4-5 years for 5-6M. Sergachev will sign for 4-5 years for 4M-4.5M. And Cernak will probably sign a bride contract, a 2 year deal for 2.5M-3M.

All That takes is a TJ and Killorn trade or a TJ and Gourde trdae. They have 2.8M in cap space right now. If they trade TJ and a 1st, a team would do it. They just have to get him to waive his NTC. And Gourde and a 3rd and a 5th. That’s it, done!! And they can sign them for more even and put Stamkos on LTIR to start the season. And then accure cap space through-out the year. Their trade deadline cap space is 6.8M.

Except Cernak is much better than Dermott.... So that comparison is way off.

What’s wrong with it if it does happen? Tampa maintains a cup roster. And yes, they are looking to trade some other guys. That it hasn’t happened yet says it’s an issue on the buyers end rather than the seller.

But the idea that they are in some kind of “cap hell” is just wrong.

I watched Tbay's Covid Cup run, with interest considering how many Leaf ACGM's were adding Cernak and to be honest I wasn't impressed by him. He was/is/forever be a 3rd pair Dman, just like Dermott.

You're just missing the part where he averaged 19 minutes a game in Tampa's top 4 but sure, you watched. He's much better than Dermott. He's a really good shut down defender, Dermott's injury history has turned him into a tweener defenseman.

I have been saying this for some time. They will sign whatever their league min is, and that's that.
Next year Cernak will get Coburn money.
They will either trade or pay Seattle a 2nd or something to take McDonagh, that money will go to Sergachev, and then Cirelli will suck up everything left over from UFAs going out etc.. Or maybe he gets Palat's money as he'll only have 1 year left on that deal so it will be easier to move.

I don't see any of them getting paid this year. They are gonna have to sit them down and tell them their money is coming. Look for a lot of extensions mid season, would be my guess.

I think they'd sit out or demand a trade. Yes Tampa can play hardball and let them sit but that's a lot of assets to to leave sitting.

Realistically Tampa needs to move out about $11 million, That give Sergachev about $6 million per Cirelli $5 million per and Cernak $3 million per. Basically Killorn, Johnson and Coburn and Paquette should do it. Then fill the rest of the roster with their cheap ELCs.

They need one year to get arbitration. On top of it, if they are getting money mid season on a hand shake, it's whatever. Players do those things.

They all have a Stanley Cup ring, what makes you feel like they'll be loyal to TBay, the players need to get paid. They got their glory now it's payday time. This isn't Thornton, Spezza, Simmonds playing their twilight years on the cheap for the hometown dream. These kids are young and need the $$$.

I agree...I really wished Dermott not Holl got the top 4 spot. Dermott > Holl. Than it'll be easily to see Dermott and Cernak are equals. Of course different playing styles but still equal.

why do you keep this insistence that they won't get it?
Hell I even laid out how it would happen. where the cap space comes from, and the when and how.
You over here all naïve about how if they sign a QO they don't get paid.

Would you take a minimum wage salary when you knew value market value was 2-5 times higher ?

The answer is no.

again you keep this insistence that they won't get paid. It's such an immature argument.
It makes no difference if they sign a QO so their cap hit is low, and then a few weeks into the season they sign an extension with a signing bonus so they get their money.
Why such things are so hard for you to comprehend like it's some astrophysics calculation is beyond me.
It's not like many players haven't done this before to help the team. Pettersson did it for the penguins last year. They had no cap space. They signed him to his low cap hit under 1 million and then mid way into the season he got his money. The AVA worked out over the course of both signing to a fair amount and both sides were happy.
This is no reason that can't happen here, other than you acting too immature to actually understand that.

1 out of 3 would be a realistic achievement, but if you're convinced all 3 RFA's will take the one year Q.O. than you're crazy.....

I'm not arguing it can't be done with one player (Cernak is most likely taking a Q.O.) but it's insane to believe all 3 will.

they are going to get the same amount of money either way.
