I find the fact that we have a military anymore appalling. Canada hasn’t been in danger for over 200 years. And if you want to help people in other countries, go join the UN. It ends up with the government wasting $20 billion per year that could go anywhere else other than just spending money perpetuating violence. I’m glad they don’t waste more money on useless stuff like the armed forces.
And as for how much the hockey players make, that’s how capitalism works. If you don’t want people involved in hockey to make money, then don’t pay for tickets, or watch it on TV, or buy any merchandise. They’re creating a product, of which there is a lot of demand for. If you want to blame anyone, blame the fans.
The fact that you call the armed forces 'Useless" and "wasting $20,000,000,000 a year" is repulsive.
I used to live about 15 minutes away from a CAF base, and the toll it took on the people was massive. These men were deployed to the middle east to help people out there, and wouldn't see their family for six months (!) at a time. They risked life and limb to serve their country.
If you can't see the need for a military in a corrupt world like this one, you're blind. Our government isn't stupid and wouldn't have a military if they werent used. When I lived up there, the military was VERY MUCH USED.
Sometimes it isn't about protecting yourself, its about protecting those who can't help themselves. No men in suits sitting at the UN is going to go in there and get their hands dirty. They're just worried about padding their pockets.
