Suzuki has nowhere to grow in Toronto. Also after years of wanting a 1C, why are MTL trading away their best shot at one. The mix of Weber's contract with needing to re-sign Suzuki probably means bye bye Reilly which is a pretty big hole. Suzuki is off limits in Montreal, even for someone as good as Marner. Holl is sound but Weber is the captain and part of the glue that holds the team together. I understand your balance of value, I just don't think this works that well for either side.
I don't see Florida being interested in trading away one of their best defenseman for a couple of question marks. I don't see how that trade makes Florida better.
Johnson is on the decline, maybe he could bounce back with Tavares but why take the risk? For the 1st rounder? Not a very good risk for a team that is in win-now mode.
