I think the CBJ, oilers and the philly deal are close in value. Don’t think any of the teams would necessarily do those deals but I think that’s his value.

Buffalo trade is a big underpay and the flames/canes is probably an overpay.

Agreed. Laine is a tremendous goal scorer, but Werenski is one of the best all around defenseman in the NHL and has a larger impact on the game then Laine. Winnipeg clearly wins that deal

All Basically the same value. And he’s right!! It’s what Laine’s value is. A young NHL player with potential, a top prospect, and a 1st or 2nd round pick. All franchises have them. And they would probably have multiple offers like this. Probably not as many though. Maybe 2 or 3. And they would choose the package they liked the best.

I think the Kings is the best deal and the one I wouldn’t do as a GM. That’s how different people’s player evals are though. People over value and under value players for many different reason. Me, I put a lot of value on where a player was drafted and his on ice play and stats. I guess that why a top 2 overall pick is more valuable to me. Because you used a lot of value to attain the player, and a lot of money, resources, and playing time to develop that player. And although B.Roy was a later round pick, he proved last year, he could do it.

Columbus would decline, Take far more then Laine to get Werenski. Other then that most of the trades are pretty close in value.

Devils offer is solid but idk if they are willing to give up an unprotected first.

I like laine, but I’m not giving up a possible 1c of the future for him. Byfield could easily project to be a 25+ goal scorer and 80+ point player.

CBJ have (at minimum) three years of Werenski, a top pairing 20-goal defenseman who hasn’t hit his prime yet. Trading that for probably one year of Laine, who would likely price himself out of Cbus in FA, isn’t worth it to them, even with a 2nd.

CBJ need goal-scoring, but shoring up offense at the expense of defense, even if they still have Seth Jones, is a big ask.
