you wanna know some fun facts

Leafs could have had Hart/Freddie tandem but Lou thought Woll was the future. While there is always the possibility Woll comes up and becomes a beast Hart would have made the freddie problem irrelevant. As Dubas would let freddie go and sign a good cheap backup.

That’s interesting but really surprise me TBH. Lou was terrible during his tenure with the Leafs.

Well, it’s hard to build a legitimate contending team with Marner at 11 Million, so I had to change it for my fantasy team.

Besides Morgan Rielly, the rest of the defence corps are known for being strong 2 way players. Crawford led the league in high danger save percentage last season, so IDK where you are getting your information from?

IMO, Muzzin is the only defensive minded player and for what you say is 2 way minded players have more skill on the offensive side of the game rather than the defensive side of the game, if you want the cup, you need at least one defensive player on each line whether it's on the defense or offensive lines

Nylander was probably better this past season but the past 3 in total, Hall was superior. We need to keep him mind that Nylander gets to play alongside Matthews whereas Hall had to play with Zajac & Soderberg, yet he still produced at similar if not higher rates.

thats fair but hes also younger and hasnt hit his peak yet

his contracts (despite marleau and zaitsev) were good along with most of his trades. His drafting was something that needed to be worked on.

Solid team except I think that the goaltending is in question. Crawford ain't as good as he once was... sadly. Cause at one time I would argue that he was the leagues best goalie.

Severson is basically a less physical version of Muzzin. Dermott is a defensive defenceman. Theodore & Lehtonen play defence by keeping the puck in the offensive zone whenever they’re on the ice.

That’s fair. Most people will remember him for his Zaitsev and Marleau contracts. He didn’t have many blunders but the ones he did make were costly ones.

1) what is this?
2) How did I get tagged?
3) After all this improvement, Crawford is the best you can do in net?

I’m curious to know why you think the defence and goaltending is weak? Theodore and Severson are an upgrade over their current right side (Brodie & Holl). Crawford is an upgrade on Andersen.

Crawford is most certainly not an upgrade imo

Crawford led the league in high danger save percentage over the past 2 seasons. He just happens to play for a team that isn’t very good defensively that’s why he gives up a lot of goals.

He’s older than Anderson and I’d say the leafs defence isn’t much better if at all better than the leafs. I’d stick with Freddie.

Fair argument about Crawford but I think the D is pretty good actually. Theodore is a top player in his position so just adding him alone makes a difference.

How has he done when facing other shots? Because his save percentage two years ago isn't great.

But way more importantly he's a 36 year old by the start of next season who has missed the equivalent of an entire season over the last three years for concussion and other reasons. That's a terrible idea for a contender to depend on

When you have a heavy workload, you are more likely to give up weak goals due to the fatigue of it. Crawford would be sheltered on my team because of the strong defence. Even if he still leaks, the offence will be able to bail him out.

Now you're just building a narrative. Who knows if you have a large enough sample size to make the claim that fatigue is making him make mistakes on easier shots. Why don't they make him make mistakes on hard shots? It's more likely just random statistical noise

More importantly is the age and injury history concern.
