Description
Will this ever happen? No, it will not. But it’s gonna be fun to watch what (if anything) the coyotes do with the enormous amount of money coming off the books next year. This scenario is assuming massive breakout years from both Hayton and Capobianco to rationalize the Laine deal.

I mean I don’t see how much better an offer can get. Gives jets exactly what they’re looking for (2C and top 4 D). Chychrun isn’t really for sale as of right now, however a lot can change in a year. Still think the coyotes will not trade him under any circumstance

With Arizona's financial situation, The last player i see Bill Armstrong going for is Patrik Laine. I see Zona looking for cheaper more affordable contracts not expensive ones like Laine. They're probably heading for Houston down the road anyways.

Let's be honest, in terms of financials for Arizona, it doesn't matter how much money is "coming off the books" next year and how much cap space they have.
The team is in a horrible position financially and they'll have their own team cap and be minimalist spenders.
I think this situation would be better, though, than them opening up their bank and signing expensive UFAs. They'd be crippled with an older and expensive team for years. Unfortunately for them, the lack of prospects they now have might drive them to do this.
Maybe in a few years they can convince Matthews to come back to the desert. I'd love that

We're actually looking for a 1 year stop gap top 4 LHD for the upcoming season or a top pair RHD long term. We're supremely high on Samberg and Heinola who both might arrive this year, but likely one this year and one next year. Hence the 1 year stop gap. Chychrun isn't really of interest as part of a return for Laine unless he can play on the right side.

Dvorak is a low end 2C and we're looking for a 1b or 2a type player. Someone that will put up 60+ points, not someone that puts up 40 points. With drafting Perfetti, he could be ready next year, so Dvorak isn't that enticing either.

    Sorry.

    Jets say no.
Laine is going to have a legit C all year long for the first time in his career. He'll put up big goals, become an RFA and teams will throw better packages then this at the jets next offseason

Please stop making a fool of yourself by saying they’re ending up in Houston that story has been debunked so many times it doesn’t even run on the back page of Toronto tabloids anymore.

People seem to forget they were a cap team last year and their new ownership has committed to spend what it takes to field a winning team.....

If you read the description, I said this is unrealistic and never gonna happen. The point was more to demonstrate how much money is coming off the books.
