Description
Never mind how Tampa is going to solve the cap problem. (I've just put some guys on the CapFriendly LTIR in order to get them out of the way.) I'm trying to get a consensus of what the Big Three are worth. I've purposely not given any of the three of them two-year contracts so that they don't expire at the same time as Brayden Point. What's your input on value, including both amount and term?

Additional question: If they do re-sign Sergachev, where does he go?

I love Cirelli, but I think people overestimate what he deserves on a bridge contract. I think anywhere between 4 - 4.5 million on a 2 or 3 year deal would be fair

I think your pretty accurate here, one thing worth mentioning is that Cernak might be a good candidate to accept his QO for 1 year only

That would certainly help them.

Yeah, I dont like it but I can see that happening to Cernak.

I doubt the other 2 take anything less than a 3 year deal, I dont it is is TB interest to sign either guy to a 2 year because like you said... they will have Point to sign at that time .

One million off Cirelli and $1.25 million off Cernak (as @Trickster proposes) means they wouldn't have to find a place for one of Gourde or Johnson.

value isn't totally based on the player, which is the problem here. Not many teams can fit these players and cap space is hard to move even if they wanted to open up space for them.
So there is the cost of opening space, on top of getting the player. Which isn't cheap.
Most the teams with cap space, are bottom of the league, none of them are giving up top 5-8 picks for these guys. That just doesn't fit anyone's rebuild plans.
You could argue late round 1sts but none of those teams have the room.
Trying to move guys today and not take cap back, isn't a real possibility. Unless teams have the room. If TB wanted to move these guys they should have tackled their problems earlier.
Teams had space before FA and they could have cut some deals. They choose not to.
Their plan is plan B....wait for all the cap space to flood off the market, offer them QO and be done.
That's really the only route for them at this point. Everything else is too costly to be worth it.

They are worth a **** ton less than that.

Sergachev doesn't deserve a sent more than McAvoy, probably not even as much since McAvoy is just better
Cirelli still has to prove more, his production in the playoffs will make it hard for him to negotiate much above 4M
Cernak probably wont be getting a 3 year deal and more of a 1-2 year deal with half the hit

So in a vacuum, discounting taxes or any other factor that relates to Tampa Bay:

Cirelli - 6 years x $6-6.5 M
I’d say comparables/contracts that I looked to in reference were Larkin & Schmaltz. 3 x $5M also works.

Sergachev - 6 years x $5.5-6 M
Main comparables are Provorov & Hanifin. On a 3 year deal it could be closer to $4.5M (McAvoy, Werenski).

Cernak - 2-3 years x around $3 M
Comparable to Gavrikov/Carlo

You can’t really put McAvoy on the same level as others, since Boston has a thing about getting their players to take less.

Edit: But I do agree this is an overpayment for Sergachev.

Sure I can, Werenski literally only got paid 100k more for the same term. Werenski is better than Sergachev and arguably better than McAvoy
