    Why is Ladd on LTIR

Seems to a common CF theme. Don't want a player put him LTIR. Same with players waiving their NTC, or even M NTCs are willing to be traded to bottom feeding teams with cap.
Doubt if Boychuk is waiving to Wings

Incorrect @PalHal there is reason to believe this one. Aside from Ladd's lengthy injury history (3 ACL surgeries and a back issue) there are rumblings that Robidas Island is coming. Read between the lines

I'm trying to find another article from The Athletic, I believe it was LeBrun or Pronman, but the author interviewed a current NHL exec who specifically mentioned "Robidas Island" coming back to New York

Those NHL Rumor Daily tweets don’t specify a player though.I don’t have the Athletic so I can’t comment on the content.

I could see a first with a minor addition to offload Boychuk since it’s 12M cap and 5.25M cash.

I agree that the player is vague, but odds are it's the guy who was exiled to BPT to ride buses all season. Don't think Ladd wants to finish his career that way anyways. He does have lengthy injury history, so even if he *could* play (AHL) hockey I don't think he would fight the designation of LTIR. Stay home with your kids and collect a check

Sure do, we got a 2nd for 1 year of staal. This is 2 years and a higher Contract value. The islanders are also in a cap crunch to sign barzal so during this flat cap we will be squeezing them for everything we can to accept their contract. You can provide wilde or bellows or something similar like bolduc or you can keep boychuck with 0 chance of signing barzal.

If you say no that's completely fine, we keep our cap space and move on this season with no problems where as on the island they won't have their star player and #1 center

The fact that you compared the trade value of wilde and bolduc is mind boggling. It proves i was 100% right and you should do some research on islanders prospects before talking about them.
With regard to our cap situation, rumor is ladd is going on ltir. Even if he doesnt we could move hickey and komarov and be ok. And even if we have to move boychuck his cap hit is 300k more than staal (pretty much the same) for double the time. But two seconds dont necessarily make a first so a first should do it maybe a little more, certainly not also a grade A prospect.

Great story, love the insults. You can keep boychuck and have fun signing barzal. Ladd won't be on ltir, he proved he can play last year and he was about to get traded for parise last season before it fell apart at the end. Can't put him on ltir if he doesn't agree, he still wants to play, can't force him.

By the way none of them are A prospects guy. Bellows just failed performance enhancement test, hasn't made the isles with plenty of chances and has been an incredibly streaky scorer in the ahl. Wilde struggled in the ahl so bad that he went back to juniors where he was good offensively and stunk defensively. Bolduc is intriguing because he is great defensively and added some offensive flair this past season in the Q, I think he's best if the 3 but none are A prospects. an A prospect is Byram, mcmichael, hayton, ty smith, zegras etc. and none of them are that level

An A level prospect is lafrenierre and none of them are on his level so theyre not A level prospects???????? Also if bellows took peds intentionally the suspension wouldve been a lot longer. This is another nate schmidt situation.

Either way they aren't A prospects. Bolduc is a B, bellows is a B- and wilde is a C+ at this point. None of them help the isles in a big way anytime soon so moving them to keep barzal is prob a good move. Lafreniere isn't the only A prospect out there, the guys I named are also A

Ladd would be just fine going on ltir hes hated here. Also he wasnt getting traded for parise it was going to be a first and A level bellows to move ladds terrible contract and pick up parise. Would agree with you that hes fit to play but there are some pretty solid rumors that someone big is going on ltir for the isles.

Everyone rates prospects differently and I’d wager you’re pretty liberal in your grading of prospects. Like would you say Dobson and Wilde are comparable as A prospects?
